The United States of Burma Army (USBA), based in Thayet Township, Magway Region, reported that their patrol from KB-12 outpost came under attack by a terrorist military column, resulting in casualties.

On March 18 around 10:00 AM, the terrorist military group departed from KB-12 with two armored personnel carriers, foot soldiers, and headed toward the Kyauktaing checkpoint in Minthon Township.

With approximately 70 troops, as they approached Khonetai village, they clashed with defense force units in a mutual firefight lasting about 10 minutes.

"Nothing remains at the clash site now. The enemy is gone. We're gone too. The villagers in Khonetai were a bit worried and scared due to the fighting, but they've now returned to normal," said a USBA official.

During the exchange of fire, two enemy soldiers were killed and one wounded. After the clash, the terrorist troops reportedly retreated to KB-12, carrying their dead and wounded.

On March 15, the terrorist military group had also clashed with USBA forces near a railway in villages including Sulai Kone, Wine Su, and Shar Taung Kyi in Sin Paung Wae Township.
