Taungoo-based Ketumati Air Force Base Was Fired Upon with Short-Range Rockets

According to the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), the Taungoo-based Ketumati Air Force Base in Bago Region was struck with short-range rockets in a targeted attack carried out by revolutionary forces.
At around 9 p.m. on December 9, joint revolutionary defense units executed a coordinated assault on the Ketumati Air Force Base, firing six 107-mm short-range rockets into the junta-controlled facility. Following the strike, multiple follow-up explosions were heard inside the base, according to revolutionary sources.
After the attack, junta commission troops responded by firing heavy weapons repeatedly at around 10 p.m and advancing their columns around the outskirts of Taungoo villages, according to revolutionary sources.
“Around 10:20 p.m., the enemy started shooting heavy weapons, and troops from nearby bases also fired continuously until after 2 a.m. But all our comrades got out safely. We are still checking how much the enemy was hit,” a BWM member told People’s Radio Myanmar.
The attack was carried out under the leadership of the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), together with the Mountain Knight Civilian Defense Forces (MKCDF), the Anti-Coup People’s Liberation Force (ACPLF), the Northern Than Taung Special Region, the Fighter Sar Kae group, and the KNLA Brigade 2, Battalion 5.
Moreover, as the revolutionary front continues to intensify, it has become increasingly clear that the revolution can gain the upper hand by crippling the enemy’s air power. For this reason, all revolutionary forces are being urged to step up and jointly carry out missions aimed at weakening and dismantling the junta’s air capabilities.
