 Junta Troops Advance on Lay Kay Kaw to Station Forces with Artillery Support

The terrorist junta is attempting to restation at Lay Kay Kaw new town and Shwe Taw Pagoda hill, located south of Myawaddy, deploying around 500 troops along with artillery vehicles from the areas of Mae Htaw Thalay, Kyauk Gu, and Lat Kat Taung road section, according to frontline allied KNLA news sources speaking to People’s Radio Myanmar.


“The army has been moving artillery vehicles along the Mae Kanal road for a long time; the group arrived at Mae Htaw Tha Lay (Shan) School, Lat Kat Taung, and Kyauk Gu. Troops are trying to deploy to Lay Kay Kaw. At first, the attacks engaged with heavy weapons on the ground. They have not entered Lay Kay Kaw, the news source said.


As of the afternoon of September 22, both sides have been exchanging artillery fire and drone strikes, and junta ground troops are stationed along the road sections in Pa Heka Law village, according to reports


“The junta troops are strong and advancing on foot along the roads, but are currently halted along the Ywar Tan Shay road sections in Pa Hka Law village. They have not advanced from Mae Htaw Tha Lay village, nor have they entered the cornfield area in Lay Kay Kaw township, from the Mae Wa Khee to Lay Kay Kaw wards,” a resident of Mae Htaw Tha Lay said.


Currently, military convoys carrying troops and heavy weapons are moving from Kyone Doe and the Kaw Kyarite road sections toward Myawaddy to reinforce the 275th regiment based in Myawaddy and the Thing Gan Nyi Naung military zone, according to frontline sources.
