Renewed Airstrike by Junta Forces on Thipaw Town
4 August, 2025
According to a statement from the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the military junta has resumed airstrikes targeting Thipaw Town in northern Shan State.
On August 2, at around 2 p.m., two 250-pound bombs were fired near the old base of the Military Council’s Battalion 23 (Ka La Ya 23), according to reports.
Junta forces deliberately carried out aerial bombings targeting civilian areas in Thipaw Town—once on July 4, once on July 14, and once on July 19. As a result, two civilians were killed and five others injured. The attacks also damaged 13 houses, six buildings, and school facilities at one basic education school.
Regarding the aerial attacks, local residents have been advised to remain constantly vigilant of the military junta’s offensives to avoid danger. They are also urged to follow air defense measures to protect themselves from further airstrikes.
