 Air Raid by Regime Junta Leaves One Dead, Five Injured

In Mon State, Kyaikto Township, a junta air attack struck, resulting in casualties, the Karen National Union (KNU) said in a statement.


On August 9, without any clashes occurring, junta troops launched an airstrike on Pain Nae Kone Village in the Pyin Ka Toe village tract, killing one local resident and injuring four others. Five houses, three cars, and three motorcycles were also damaged.


In addition, on August 11, junta troops from the 44th Infantry Division headquarters fired 120 mm artillery shells between Win Thaung Village and Kyauk Pon Village in the Kyauk Lone Gyi village tract.


Similarly, around 3 PM that day, troops from KaLaYa (8) and KaMaYa (3) units fired small arms toward Chaung Pyant Village, injuring 50-year-old local resident Naw Pan Kyi, according to reports.
