Revolutionary Joint Forces Capture Thukha Camp on Thai–Myanmar Border

9 July, 2025

Revolutionary joint forces have attacked and captured the military council’s Thukha camp, located along the Thai border in Thayatchaung District of the Thanintharyi Region, according to the KNU.

On July 7, revolutionary forces attacked the Thukha base, which was manned by about 30 troops and located east of Kalein Aung town in Yephyu Township. According to Padoh Saw Eh Na, the KNU Secretary for Myeik–Thayetchaung District, the base was successfully captured on the same day.

Following the battle, around 20 military council troops fled across to the Thai side. However, the impact on both sides and the seizure of weapons and ammunition have not yet been confirmed.

"After the battle, all the military council troops fled to the Thai side. We still don’t know how many weapons and rounds of ammunition we got, or how many soldiers were killed. That’s because the area hasn’t been fully cleared yet," he said.

Due to the revolutionary forces’ capture of the Thukha base, only the Nat Ein Taung base now remains along the Thai border.

In 2025, the revolutionary forces successfully captured the Thit Hta strategic hill base and the Thit Khee border trade camp in April and May. In June, they went on to seize both Bawdi base camp and the Ngar Yant Ni base camp in succession.
