11 July, 2025

A vehicle transporting narcotics with an endorsement letter from the commander of Infantry Battalion 15 in Yinmabin District was intercepted on the Var Bridge in Falam Township, Chin State, according to an announcement by the Chinland Defense Force – Hakha.

On July 8, a Forland vehicle with license plate 1J-6011 was stopped and inspected by the Chinland Defense Force – Hakha near Haka Township. During the inspection, approximately 3 million stimulant tablets, 110 kilograms of No. 4 heroin, two handguns, and two mini Starlink devices were seized. Three revolutionary fighters, the driver, and a vehicle escort were taken into custody, according to the report.

Regarding the seizure, attempts were made to contact the Chinland Defense Force, but no response has been received yet.

Maung Zaw Lat (real name), U Win Maw, and Ko Pu Tee (real name), U Kyaw Min Zaw, who were responsible for transporting the seized narcotics, reportedly fled the scene to evade capture.

The seized narcotics were burned and destroyed on July 9, and those who transported the drugs will be prosecuted according to the law, the statement said.

Regarding this matter, the Chinland Defense Force – Hakha has stated that if any further production, distribution, sale, use, or transportation of narcotics and psychoactive substances is detected within Haka Township, they will take effective action accordingly.

Regarding the narcotics seizure case, the Salin Gyi Special Task Force (SSTF) announced on July 10 that they will fully take responsibility and handle the revolutionary fighters from Infantry Battalions 14 and 15 in Yinmabin District as their own members.

In this incident, four revolutionary fighters were granted authorization letters signed by Ko Phoe Thaung from Infantry Battalion 15 to transport two guns, two vehicles, and excavation equipment. However, the seized narcotics transport was a private act by the fighters and has no connection or involvement with their organization, as stated.

Investigations into the incident are underway. Authorities are actively pursuing the two escaped revolutionary fighters, Ko Zaw Lat (real name Win Maw) and Ko Pu Tee (real name Kyaw Min Zaw), who will face strict legal action once apprehended. The Ministry of Defense has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing probe, and the fugitives are expected to be captured and handed over to MOD officials.

The parent organization firmly denies any involvement in crimes committed using its name and condemns such acts. It also vows to take strict measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
