Junta Council’s Wall Lay Police Station and Tawataing Hill Defensive Positions and Trenches Initially Captured by KNLA Allied Forces
8 July, 2025The junta camp, located in Wall Lay New Township near the Myanmar-Thailand border in southern Myawaddy, including the military council’s police station and communication posts at Tawataing Hill defensive trenches, was captured and cleared by KNLA allied forces, who are continuing offensive operations, according to military sources.
“Yesterday, we managed to clear the Wall Lay Myine police station and the communication post at Tawataing Hill. The police chief fled, and we captured three of their men alive. That police station had already been attacked twice before. Now that the area has been cleared, the commanders will likely issue an official statement soon,” said a source from the military frontline.
On July 3, the military council’s air force conducted airstrikes in support of ground troops after KNLA allied forces launched an offensive on the Wall Lay strategic hill. As a result of the intense clashes, around five residents from nearby villages were injured and two were reportedly killed. It was also reported that approximately 500 locals have fled and are temporarily taking shelter in villages on the Thai side of the border to escape the fighting.
