Clashes and exchange of fire occurred between the two forces in Pantin Inn Village, Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region. Following the junta’s heavy artillery strikes, two civilians were killed, according to reports.

According to a local resident, clashes broke out between resistance forces and junta troops in Pantin Inn Village at around 8 a.m. on July 29, after a large contingent of regime soldiers advanced into the area.

"That column was heading to the Yaynet port area. They fought their way across the road. The day before, they had been staying at the school," he said.

During the ongoing clashes, the junta-based KaLaYa 104 Battalion in Launglon and the Maungmagan police stations continuously provided heavy weapon fire support, according to a local resident.

Heavy weapons shelling resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to approximately six others, while several homes were damaged by fire, according to reports.

“We had to run, so we couldn’t really see anything clearly. All we saw was smoke rising. We only know how many died, but we don’t know who they were," he said.

Additionally, the junta forces reportedly arrested local residents as human shields and continued to fire small arms at them.

On July 25, in Zayat Seik Village, Palaw Township, junta forces shelled the area with heavy weapons, resulting in the deaths of 10 civilians and injuries to 5 others.
