A vehicle carrying a Pyu Saw Htee leader was struck by a landmine in Natmauk Township, Magway Region, resulting in casualties, according to the People’s Defence Force–Yenangyaung.
On September 2, around 8:30 a.m., a ‘dice car’ carrying 15 people, including Pyu Saw Htee leader Khin Maung The, traveling from Pa Taught Nuge Pyu Village, was targeted by a landmine planted by a joint defense force along Mon Road in Natmauk Township.
As a result of the landmine attack, three Pyu Saw Htee members were killed and five others were injured, and there were also engagements of gunfire, as reports.
“Although we had the advantage in firing, we did not have time to collect our weapons as reinforcements from Natmauk arrived, since our retreat point was far away. The dice vehicle they were riding in was destroyed. We saw with our own eyes the deaths of the enemy in the encounter,” said an official from the People’s Defence Force–Yenangyaung.
The military council troops transported the dead and injured back to Natmauk town following the landmine attack, as reported.
The attack was carried out jointly by the People’s Defence Force–Yenangyaung, District 3 Battalion (1), the Chauk Revolution Army (CRA), Minbu Township (PLA), the Yenantha Column, and the Natmauk and Intaw Township PLA units.
